Hezbollah will not take action if the United States carries out limited strikes against Iran, a pro-Iranian official told the AFP news agency.
Lebanese officials are concerned that Hezbollah could become involved if a possible regional war erupts following possible U.S. strikes against Iran, AFP reported.
The official told AFP that "In the event of limited U.S. strikes against Iran, Hezbollah's position will be not to intervene militarily."
However, the source added that any direct attack on Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, would constitute a "red line" for Hezbollah.
Meanwhile, the IDF is preparing for the possibility that Hezbollah will attack Israel in the case that a regional conflict escalates.
Israeli defense officials explained that the extensive attack carried out by the IDF in Lebanon on Friday was intended to undermine Hezbollah's capabilities, in preparation for its possible response to a strike on Iran.
The Lebanese Health Ministry reported that ten people were killed and fifty were wounded in IDF strikes in the area of Bekaa. According to military sources, the targets of the attacks were weapons and infrastructure that Hezbollah had recently prepared – including rockets, drones, and underground warehouses.
